Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be ideal candidate to replace Edu Gaspar as Arsenal's sporting director, says Anders Limpar

‎Ex-Arsenal midfielder Anders Limpar has suggested that Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be the perfect candidate to replace Edu Gaspar as Arsenal's sporting director, following Edu’s surprise resignation in November 2024. Limpar described the potential acquisition of the AC Milan legend as a "dream," commending Ibrahimovic's remarkable mentality and leadership qualities.

‎Edu Gaspar’s resignation from his position as sporting director of Arsenal came in November 2024, as he decided to take on a new challenge with Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis. Reflecting on his departure, Edu expressed deep affection for Arsenal, stating, “Arsenal will always remain in my heart. I wish the club and its supporters only good things and all the very best.”
‎With the role of sporting director now vacant, Limpar has voiced strong support for Ibrahimovic to step in and take over the position. Currently serving in an executive role in Italy, the 43-year-old former Sweden international has built a reputation as a driven winner, something Limpar believes would be invaluable for the Gunners.
‎Speaking to SveaCasino.se, Limpar praised Ibrahimovic’s unparalleled determination and commitment to success, saying, "When it comes to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he is a God. I would love to see him replace Edu at Arsenal; it would be a dream come true. First of all, he is an absolute winner. He would never stop until he has won. I would be the first one to support him working behind the scenes at Arsenal; he could take them to the next level."
‎With Arsenal currently second in the Premier League standings, they will next face Fulham on April 1, followed by a clash with Everton on April 5. The Gunners will also host defending champions Real Madrid for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on April 8, marking a crucial period in their season.
‎Limpar’s endorsement of Ibrahimovic as a potential sporting director underscores the desire for a figure who can elevate Arsenal to new heights, both on and off the pitch.
