‎The England international had been sidelined at Old Trafford under manager Ruben Amorim, alongside Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia. Barcelona provided an escape route, but concerns over Rashford’s performances have led the club’s hierarchy to reassess the arrangement, according to Spanish outlet El Nacional.
‎Rashford featured in Barcelona’s opening three matches of the 2025-26 campaign but struggled to make an impact. He was substituted at half-time in the 3-2 victory over Levante on August 23, with his side trailing 2-0 at the break before mounting a comeback. Reports suggest that decision has added weight to doubts about his place in Hansi Flick’s plans.
‎England manager Thomas Tuchel has expressed continued confidence in the 27-year-old. Rashford has been named in the Three Lions squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, offering him a chance to rediscover his form on the international stage.
‎Rashford is expected to feature when England host Andorra at Villa Park on Saturday. Meanwhile, Barcelona return to La Liga action on September 14 against Valencia, having collected seven points from their opening three fixtures with wins over Mallorca and Levante and a draw against Rayo Vallecano.
